Shipping to Malaysia is subject to relatively strict regulations for communication devices (such as smartphones and PCs).
If the LOVOT is classified as a communication device, the following conditions may apply:
Import tax: 20%–30%
SST (Sales and Service Tax): 10%
The recipient must obtain an import permit approved by SIRIM (Standards and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia) before the shipment arrives.
The permit fee typically ranges from €20 to €50.
Failure to comply may be considered a violation, resulting in customs duties of up to three times the purchase value.
In some cases, returns are not allowed, and the shipment may be disposed of after 30 days.
