Regarding shipments to the Czech Republic, please note that customs clearance may not be granted without the recipient's cooperation.
All B2C shipments are subject to formal customs clearance, which includes import duties, value-added tax (VAT), and service charges.
- Customs clearance is only possible after the recipient obtains an ad hoc EORI number, which can be acquired through the customs authority’s website.
All recipients must complete a web form providing the following information and attachments:
- Ad hoc EORI number
- Email address
- Description of the contents (in Czech)
- Proof of payment (e.g., bank transfer receipt, credit card statement, or PayPal confirmation)
- Power of Attorney (POA)
- Duties, VAT, and fees must be prepaid to DHL or paid in cash upon delivery.
If the recipient is familiar with cross-border e-commerce, they will need to obtain the ad hoc EORI number (similar to a corporate or personal identification number issued by the government in Japan) and respond to the email from DHL accordingly.
For corporate recipients, an ad hoc EORI number is not required, as they typically already have an EORI number.
